Hello Friends!
Lori here! Guardian has some exciting news that I am so excited to share with you! Guardian recently had the incredible privilege to partner with Classic Metal Roofing Systems, the industry leader in metal roofing shingles.

Thanks to this exclusive partnership with Classic Metal Roofing Systems (part of the Isaiah Industries brand based in Ohio) Guardian Roofing now has the ability to provide our customers the durability, longevity and visual beauty of a metal shingled roof. Metal roofing is popular not only for the design flexibility and style it offers, but also for long term value when it comes to protecting a home, reducing environmental impacts, and increasing energy efficiency.

The ability to make metal roofing look like other more tradition construction materials affords consumers the opportunity to use a variety of colors and designs. Essentially, it can be used to mimic other materials but with the added benefits of durability and longevity. Metal roofing or a metal shingled roof can last several decades and in the long run cost less over its lifetime than cheaper alternatives.

We are so excited to bring this incredible roofing alternative to our valued roofing clientele. If you would like to learn more about Metal Shingles, please check out our informative page here. As always thank you for your continued support of the Guardian Team and Family!

This month’s featured review:

“I just bought my first home a couple of weeks ago and we found out the hard way that we need a new roof. Not only was Justin on time, but he was very professional, friendly and walked me through the entire process and was extremely transparent with pricing, giving us more than two options and making sure that I was comfortable with what I was deciding on. Since we also just bought the house, he offered financing options and payment options just in case the credit is not where it should be. I would definitely recommend this company and even though he was awesome, I hope that I don’t have to see them again for the next 20-30 years, lol. Thanks Justin!!”

Most importantly we want to find someone truly in need of the Guardian Halo Project, and to do that we need your help. If you know of a homeowner in need of a roof repair or replacement but cannot afford to fix it on their own, please nominate them on our nomination page or spread the word about the Halo Project on social media.

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Metal Roofs?

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Metal Roofs?

Choosing a new roof for your home can be a bit overwhelming, especially when you consider there are many different types of roofs to choose from. When choosing a roof, you’ll want to take into account more than just the price. After all, you’ll want to make sure the roof you install will do a good job protecting your home against the elements and will last for years to come. One type of roof you should take into consideration is metal roofing. The following are some of the pros and cons of metal roofing.

The Advantages of Metal Roofing

  • Metal roofs are very durable – They can sustain up to 140 mph winds without experiencing damage. Certain types of metal roofs can also withstand impact damage.
  • Metal roofs are long-lasting – In part because of their durability, metal roofs can last anywhere from 40 to 70 years.
  • Metal is fire-resistant – Metal will not spark or catch fire.
  • Metal is insect-resistant – Unlike other types of roofs, metal does not attract insects. This is because metal doesn’t retain moisture and can’t rot.
  • Metal roofs are energy-efficient – Metal reflects heat, which means a metal roof can help reduce your cooling costs by as much as 25%.
  • Metal roofs are environmentally-friendly – Metal roofs are often manufactured with anywhere from 25% to 95% recycled materials and are completely recyclable at the end of their lifespan.

The Disadvantages of Metal Roofing

  • Metal roofs can be expensive – Depending on the quality of the metal, a metal roof can be anywhere from two to three times as expensive as other types of roofs. However, these initial costs are typically covered by the money you’ll save on energy costs. Additionally, you won’t have to replace your roof anytime soon.
  • Improper installation can cause issues – If you don’t have a reputable, experienced roofer properly install your metal roof, it can lead to a lot of issues. For example, the metal needs to breathe due to expansion and contraction. If not installed correctly, the metal panels may loosen.

Metal roofing can be a great choice due to its many benefits, but it also presents drawbacks. Be sure to consider both when deciding on whether metal roofing is for you. How To Guard Your Home With Our 9 Services

How To Guard Your Home With Our 9 Services

You’ve probably heard of “overall wellness” services, a healthcare term for delivering whole-body health and wellness rather than treating a surface problem. Homes are like that, too. Sometimes a residential property problem impacts several areas. Wouldn’t it be easier if your community had a company that practices whole-house wellness?

If you have one problem, you may not know you need multiple services. Most importantly, you need to work with a company you can trust; one that wants what’s best for your property (and your budget).

Community-focused companies not only know your house but will be here for years to come. At some point, you may require one or more of these 9 services to guard your home.

1. Roof Repairs

Your roof is your main protection against the elements and the soul of your home. When your roof is healthy, your house is, too. Roof repairs should be done by a local contractor who not only patches the damage but can tell you the source of the issue. Most roof repairs occur because of interior leaks or storm damage. You can be secure in the knowledge your roof will offer many more years of protection when the project is managed by a reputable roofing company.

2. Roof Replacement

Replacing your roof is a big project. You need to follow guidelines for hiring a roofing contractor who cares about your home. The most important factor in roofing replacement is accountability. Long-term local contractors want to deliver quality workmanship because they live here, too.

3. Roof Inspection

When you bought your home, it was inspected, right? The age and general condition of the roof were noted, which is important. When you schedule bi-annual (fall and spring) roof inspections,  small problems can be caught before they become expensive ones. A 17-point roof inspection followed by a twice/year maintenance follow-up can give your roof years of added protection.

4. Roof Maintainance

Getting your roof inspected every 5 years is minimal protection. Considering Washington weather extremes, savvy homeowners have bi-annual maintenance checks. Fall roofing maintenance ensures all vents, including chimneys and skylights, all properly sealed and ready for high winds and jaw-dropping freezes. Spring roofing maintenance checks to see if any damages occurred and prepare your roof for the summer season.

5. Metal Roofing

Everything old is new again! Metal roofs were popular years ago, but asphalt shingles became the new standard. Metal roofing is trending; it’s versatile and energy-efficient. You can choose from among many colors and sleek, water-tight designs. Metal roof warranties can last up to 50 years.

6. Moss Proofing

While you’re managing moss and algae on the ground, you may have another battle on your roof. There’s an economical, green process to eliminate and prevent unwanted green growth on your roof. When you’re ready, moss-proofing will deliver up to 5 years of roof protection.

7. Attic Insulation

Attic insulation is an energy-efficient option for cold-weather homes. Your local pros will ensure there’s no leaking or dampness in your attic first. Architectural design and rafter condition is important too. Attic insulation is a money-saving option, so do it sooner, rather than later. Then watch your energy bill drop from 10%-50% every month!

8. Pest Control

It’s not unusual to have an insect problem. The real factor in pest elimination and prevention is determining why and how you have an insect problem. Washington bugs are nothing if not hardy, and if there’s vulnerability anywhere in your architecture, they’ll find it. Don’t risk contaminating your home, family, and pets by DIY (do-it-yourself) pest control. Get it done professionally for complete elimination and prevention.

9. Commercial Properties

If you own a commercial property, you may struggle with flat-roof-leaks or maintenance problems. Check your local Better Business Bureau for roofing company complaints and study online reviews. Then, partner with your trusted area roofing professional to discover “outside-the-box” solutions to your unique commercial property roofing.

There’s a whole-house wellness company in Washington. Guardian Home Services in Auburn, WA believes our quality of work is essential to our success. We want you to also appreciate our service delivery because it leads to good reviews and customer testimonials. It’s a win-win!
